Bluebird Nest Watercolor Nature Painted Slate - A bluebird that sits on the side of a bird's nest is painted on a slate with watercolors creating a wonderful functional nature art ready to hang on your farmhouse wall. The slate is hand-painted on a painted slate with watercolor and ink. These are original illustrations hand painted on antique roof slates from my 150 yr. barn. I knew I had to paint these little treasures with insects and flowers as I stared at them on the ground. I couldn’t see them thrown away when something could be painted on them.
